The President should not initiate military action against Iran…without…obtaining authorization from Congress!?!
I was just watching C-SPAN when to my amazment an amendment to the military appropriations bill by Rep. Hickey NY which called for the following:
“Expressing the sense of Congress that the President should not initiate military action against Iran with respect to its nuclear program without first obtaining authorization from Congress. (Introduced in House)” was soundly defeated by the Republican majority. This was expressed in the following bill voted down in April of this year. Do we need any more evidence that this Republican congress has no sense of responsibility towards the constitutional separation of powers. Why can’t we use this in the up-coming elections.
