Primary colors
I know that much has been made in the paper about the recent visit from Chuck Pennacchio. In my humble opinion, this was a healthy expression of party values during the primary season. I think that open mindedness is very much a Democratic party virtue and we should keep it, as such.
Some were worried that the acknowledgement of a dark horse candidate like Chuck Pennachio would split the party and cause the appearance of disunity. Well, frankly, I think somebody is hitting the panic button a little early. This is understandable considering what’s at stake in the National Senatorial Campaign.
Those of us who attended those events will be there for the Democratic party when it counts the most, and after the primary is when it counts the most.
Those folks who organized the Pennachio events understood that going in.
If you want to worry about disunity, worry about the letter I just got in the mail from Former Blair County Democratic Chairperson Patricia Trexler. This letter urged me to switch parties (not gonna happen) and vote for the incumbant in the State Senatorial GOP primary race. I found the very suggestion offensive. This dispicable chunk of junk-mail is a clear sign of just how desperate the incumbant is.
Rest assured, Fellow Democrats, that our nominee, in the State Senatorial race, has taken into consideration every possible primary outcome and we will be ready to run a campaign that you will be proud to support. No matter who wins their primary!!!!
So before tossing the Trexler letter into the trash where it belongs, perhaps (Just a suggestion) you might want to call and express your dispeasure with her, via voice mail. The number is at the bottom of the page.
They can’t split us, They won’t split us, we’re Democrats, together, Blair County, Pennsylvania and America can do better!!!

Eric, I know we don’t agree on all things but this is something I agree with you on. I also think it was great that there was Democratic issues in the Altoona Mirror and TV-10.
