Voting Machines
Hi all…I didn’t expect to be on here again, but Liz encouraged me to put this on the Blog so here goes:
Voting Machine Decision
The decision could be made this week as to which voting machines will be purchased for use in the next election. Commissioner Donna Gority supports purchasing the optical scan system (similar to a scan-tron common in schools). This machine will provide voters with a paper trail, and a method for recounting votes in the case of a contentious outcome.
I think the public is unaware of how important an issue this is….here are my views, short, & sweet on this subject:
This decision makes me afraid
For New Voting Machines soon to be made
Two machines are in the vote
Citizens of Blair County please take note
Optical Scan System we need you see
If we need a paper count to be
Touch screen voting is only good
If you go to Sheetz to get your food
Optical Scan will let a paper trail
Citizens can use it without fail
It’s easy to use so we can adjust
Transition and trouble-free is a must
A Florida problem we do not need
Our vote in Blair County is an important Deed
We need to do what is best for all
And make this decision “Our Call”
Call your commissioners, write them a note
Do what it takes to “Hold on to our Vote”
No matter what Party we belong to
This is something that we must do
Touch Screen Voting leaves no paper receipt
Optical Scan DOES and can’t be beat
So let our Commissioners know today
Because OUR vote shall count in the USA
